Fried Green Tomatoes idea

I live in Alabama. at the grocery stores, they sell a small basket of green tomatoes for frying. Amazingly yummy BTW. I buy the green tomatoes & put the green tomatoes in a basket with fake fruit & real fruit (fake fruit keeps the air circulating around the real, so that they don't rot as quickly) These tomatoes will ripen in the bowl & taste like you just picked them off the plant. No lie, you can have yummy tomatoes in winter instead of the red, squishy, water filled excuse for a tomato in winter…

  1. One thing about living in North Cyprus – fruit and veg are pretty much direct from producer to outlet. They taste quite different. And it’s interesting getting used to seasonal produce again – a glut of strawberries to apricots then on to the next, new harvest.

local fruit & veggies are amazing. I tried farmer’s markets for a while. Then I decided to grow my own stuff. What a difference! Its hard to go to the grocery store in the off season & eat yuck. Which is why i buy green tomatoes! ~amy
