I have this image w/o screws framed in a big orange frame for a spot of color in my house.this is the top of the fence…it is much higher then the privacy fence– which is a great idea if you have a terrible view.this bamboo was primed & painted in these wonderful bright colors & screwed to the back of a privacy fence. This was at a wonderful garden shop called, “Sweet Pea” in Homewood, Alabama.I always thought of bamboo growing ‘somewhere’. i never would have guessed it could grow in my neighborhood. When the kids, dog & i walk, we go past a few places & take some bamboo that has fallen down. We bring it home to use in our own garden to hold up veggies or flowers that are too weak to hold themselves up. This section of wooded area is a combination of Kudzu, ivy, bamboo & pine tree. Crazy, huh?
I will not plant it…it is like mint-invasive. This is a few blocks from my house on a patch of no-mans-land. Free bamboo for the taking. We have a bunch. Thank you, Gretchen! ~amy
I wish I could claim the painted bamboo as my own. I photographed them as they were. Stunning display. I wish I had a fence to put them in front of. Someday! ~amy
I love bamboo. Great word, for a start. It’s something you can say to anyone. “Hey, Mr. Wapojif, how are you?” – “Bamboo!” There’s some in the local sushi restaurant Mr. Wapojif frequents. We’re not allowed to eat it, though. *grumble*
Say “Yo!” to Henry for me. Also, play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Let me know who won!
I love your colored bamboo.. We have a wall of it that has gone awry, need to rip some out and install a barrier. Coloring ones that we harvest would be great.
Love this. I am a big fan of bamboo. Must be careful where you plant it.
