Is the flower butterfly weed (a type of milkweed) or some kind of milkweed? If so, this is a milkweed bug.

I was told it was milkweed, in Vermont, they do not look like this, so i doubted the salesmen was right. However, i noticed the fluffy little dandelion type floaties yesterday so he must be write. Thank you for telling me what kind of bug these were. They were well matched with the flower. ~amy
