These are two originals done by two year olds. The ghost is a child’s foot painted with washable white paint. This is great fun, to make your student giggle by painting his/her foot white. I placed the black paper on the ground & i held the child’s ankle as he stepped on the black paper. To make the black circles, I cut out circles from regular kitchen sponges. I put the circle in black paint to make the eyes & the mouth. When the paint was dry, I had the child use Q-tips to dot on the white circles inside the black circles. To make the pupils, we take an upside down paint brush & dot the center of the white, together…
I did this project with two year olds. As a mother of three kids, the art made from their footprints or handprints are the ones I have kept & I pull out files to look at how small they once were. I know that this project was done mostly by me, for the child’s parents. When the child & i created this scary ghost, we had so much fun learning new vocabulary words, colors, shapes, texture & feelings. The pride & smiles on the faces of the children, when I see them show their parents what they had done, was a gift for me too.
The bat art project was a quick counting art project. I cut out black bats i made from black card stock. I made them at home, along with the moon. (Each week, we had two colors that we would teach the two year olds in different ways, we would also do a number & a letter.) I had each child come to the art table. I had about six bats on the table & one moon. I would put a dot of glue on the moon for them to place anywhere on the black construction paper. Then we counted to four & the child put the bats wherever they wanted them to be.

A great idea! Looks cool! 🙂
