Southern Sycamore reflected in the pond water

This tree starts out a light tan color, sort of freckled with browns of all shades. Then at some point in it’s beautiful life, the bark falls off, leaving behind a bone white tree. Shockingly white against any color the sky chooses to be. It is one of my favorites in Alabama, because in a way it reminds me of the white Birch tree that grew outside my bedroom window while I was growing up.
