Why does a rose get all the glory? This is a Camellia, quite stunning, huh?

This Camellia is blooming in February, in Alabama. This beauty stands out against the grey of an Alabama “winter”.
I have joined a wonderful club~The Camellia Garden Club. The meetings are once a month & usually held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Our last meeting we had the general manager of Leaf & Petal come to talk about African Violets (something I kill within a week). The meeting before we had a lady come from the Wild bird store & talk about Blue Birds. What fun.

I just figured that out after living in Alabama for over 20 years. I bought my first one last weekend. I can’t wait, its has a few buds on it. Thanks for the compliment. -amy
