i love blue

i think i’m going to start a collection of blue glass. i love, love, love it empty or not. i found these at Leaf & Petal in Mountain Brook Village, Alabama.

what my garden gave me today

truthfully, the roses are from whole foods. i do have roses like the ones i’ve photographed, but the bush gives me about two a day. the strawberries? i picked from my gardens & ate them after taking their picture. the blue hydrangea is HUGE & will give me flowers for weeks & weeks.

sunlight streams through coal ash

my neighbor used a blower to clean out his grill & it looked like a dragon exhaled. the ash traveled into our backyard. it was pretty darn cool.

the southern magnolia

when i was living in Vermont, i read about life in the deep south. i read of the legendary Magnolia. moving to Alabama in 1993, i had high expectations. the magnolia is an evergreen tree. the foliage during the winter is deep, dark green, it’s leaves are glossy & firm, which is nice when everything…

as luck would have it…

the rain Mother Nature dropped on us knocked the leaf into it’s opposite colored grass & i happened to have camera in hand.
