grow what you wanna eat

these are going to become blueberries…i have five blueberry bushes, 8 years of age. you know what that means? i will have too many blueberries to eat…if you own dirt, consider planting blueberry bushes, they are beautiful & give fruit. AND they will bring big, fat bees…

why a garden is like Christmas…every.single.morning

before i knew how to garden, i had no idea that changes happen over night. blueberries…i thought they all turned blue at the same time…nope. i go to bed, in the morning, i see berries that went from green to blue is a gift i can’t stop eating. All that you see in the second…

blueberries keep on coming

This is what we see every single day for the past two weeks. Lucky us! Plant yourself some native blueberries, it will take about five years to have them produce…too many to eat. But it is so worth the wait!

i’ve got the Monday blues

lucky me. it took me 15 minutes to pick the blueberries this morning. it took about 3 minutes for our family of five to eat half. the tomatoes & one strawberry came out of the gardens today too.

what my garden gave me today

truthfully, the roses are from whole foods. i do have roses like the ones i’ve photographed, but the bush gives me about two a day. the strawberries? i picked from my gardens & ate them after taking their picture. the blue hydrangea is HUGE & will give me flowers for weeks & weeks.

I asked for the sun, he delivered

My husband took down some trees to bring more light into the gardens. This man i married can build me flower beds, carry 30 bags of dirt in which to fill them. & he can bring me the sun.

i miss my purple spring

my gardens are pinks & purples in the spring. in the fall, my gardens are yellow, orange & reds. & lots of tomatoes… Our gardens are filled with blueberry bushes, grape vines, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, yellow squash, a peach tree. The rest are flowers. All this hidden behind my house in a small backyard bordered…
