This tree is Mobile, Alabama…tree bark turns green in Birmingham too. While the tree remains dry, the bark is brown. i love the Southern rains, always strong & heavy, nothing subtle about rain that falls here. It is magic to drive the roads i do everyday, or to just look at my own backyard & see the changes in the earth when the rain falls.
Now that is one handsome green tree! Lovely photo!

Very lucky that the building behind it named the town in which i was in. Also, the blah of the building just made the tree stand out all the more! Thanks, Eva! ~amy

I think its unique to the southern states due the INSANE humidity…just a guess though. I’m a yankee & I’d never seen the like in Vermont. Thank you! ~amy

The summer rains can be no holds barred indeed. I love the smell in the air after one of those torrents.

I do love the smell of the Southern thunderstorms. I was lucky enough to experience one yesterday, strong enough to knock out our power for several hours. We also had a tree, with gracious manners, land gently on our roof. ~amy
