  3. This one is my favorite!!! Amazing, must feel so good to get a shot like that! Love the fact that you made it B&W, it really brings out the intricate and delicate details of the wings! Beautiful image!

Thank you, Eva. That is an old one i took at my uncles beach house. Its funny because in color, it almost looks the same. His wings were sepia colored & the sky was overcast. He was HUGE, so it was easy to get that detail in his wings. ~amy

my standard 18-105mm. I use that one for most of my images b/c it works for almost everything. I don’t want to shlep around my camera bag & swap lens…too lazy. 🙂 Thank you very much for the compliment! ~amy

Insects seem remarkably resilient despite looking so fragile, don’t they. We see some very bedraggled butterflies, especially in early Spring. Great shot! … and doesn’t it work so well in b/w 🙂

Thank you, Peggy. Insects do look fragile, those that fly. Alabama roaches look like tanks…ugh, i’ve never seen such ugly, nasty bugs like the 2″ roaches that love to come out at night here. ~amy
