I showed the class a cup of water, I poured yellow oil in the glass. We watched the oil bubble & then settle on top of the water. Lesson was oil & water don’t mix. I gave the kids paper & oil pastels. I told them to press hard onto the paper with the pastels. Then we used watercolor & discovered that the WATERcolor was trapped inside the OIL pastel lines. We loved it!
I also really loved the oil and water don’t mix art. See more: http://mocomi.com/why-oil-and-water-dont-mix/
