a pocket sized beauty

I cannot go to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens without stepping inside Leaf & Petal. My poor husband knows I will come home with another mouth to water. :) Glorious blossoms in miniature. The pear beside is to give scale as to the size of this African Violet. My Grandmother's favorite is slowly becoming mine. An inheritance of sorts.

I love this lady’s photography. The flowers make me think of Spring, yes it is around the corner. 🙂

I have a friend in California that has had the same African Violets for over twenty some years. I have tried but not successful..

  4. You’re like my husband – he’s always coming home with new plants! And as for African violets, sadly these are one of the few plants we’ve never had success with. The other is petunias – whatever Bryan does, they will and die on him. He used to be so jealous of the lady further up the road for us when we lived in Queensland as she had a thick bank of petunias around her garden!
