Lol. This picture makes the dog look human-like. I half-expect him to start talking or to lean over and look over the shoulder of the boy at the iphone.
Blue never thought he was a dog. He thought he was a person & believed he was to follow me around like my shadow. He usually sat in the back of the station wagon, but that day he was on his way to the vet & to cushion the blow, I decided he should sit in the back with the kids. I took that shot with my iPhone at a stop light because I saw that he was smiling in the rearview mirror. Thank you for commenting, Michael! ~amy
I’m sure he is happy wherever he may be. It is me who misses the loss of him so very acutely. He died last February, two days after my birthday. I do have another husky to buffer his absence a bit. I just love that picture. He was convinced he was a human & not a dog. 🙂 Thank you, Gail. ~amy
Don’t they all? (think they are humans) Instead of sending out holiday cards, I made a card on Photoshop, and donated the money I would have spent to our local organization called MSPCA. http://www.mspca.org It is a no kill shelter and fantastic Animal Hospital I am an overseer.
You are a Blessing, then. We donate to Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue. We fostered Nala, but when she walked through our door, it became immediately apparent that, she was a Saab. Now, she has replaced Blue as my shadow. (I fell in love with huskies because I watched them run in Vermont snow. A sight to behold & not forgotten!) Happy me. ~amy
Great photo. We had to take our third dog for spaying to the vet’s recently and she was definitely not a happy camper on her return, having had a panic attack as she came around from the anaesthetic. She’s fine now though. One more to go!
No, it was only Molly getting spayed, thank goodness. Zoe is the eldest, we found her outside our apartment, just bones and fur, wasn’t sure she’d survive the night, we even had to feed her water as she was too weak to drink. But she started drinking the next day, hasn’t look back – she was tiny but now resembles a baby elephant, luckily a good-natured one. She was done first. Ziggy turned up next, very traumatised little pup, he had hysterics and started screaming when the vet went to fetch him for my husband, so Bryan had to calm Zig and the traumatised vet who was most upset. We have one more to go, the littlest of the lot, Milly, who came into heat a while back, but wasn’t too much trouble. Hopefully she doesn’t get too neurotic!
You are a Blessing to take in so many sad souls. my two cats & Nala, my husky were rescues. None arrived at my door though. I got them through the humane society & Alabama Siberian Husky rescue. Thank you for being you, Mo. You should share their stories with photographs, if you have not done so. ~amy
Forgot – Molly and Milly, the littlest one, are sisters, We found them under our neighbour’s car, we were going to take them to the refuge but decided to keep them.

That must have been hard to deal with in the car, Mo. Three dogs to be spayed at one time? Are they siblings? ~amy
