my backyard creek

my backyard creek

reflecting color from everywhere. stunning. There are fish in it too. We watched them swim & in some places, the water is two & a half feet deep. The creek changed shape with the crazy down pours & flash flooding early this summer, changed it so that we have a bit of a natural pool.

are you an optometrist? My dad is. I popped up the saturation after i notice the camera diminish what I saw when i stood there. The shadowed water was reflecting late afternoon light. no color correction needed, the contrast between the water’s reflection, yellow sunlit trees & the grey rock in shadow, (as you know, professor) camera shows shadow as blue-truly rocked.

I saw the colors when I stood there. When I put the image on my computer the colors had dulled, so I popped up the saturation, maybe a bit too much, but only because it was extraordinary. The blue is on the rocks, because they were in shadow. Every shadow shows up blue in photographs, to warm them, you would add yellow. I didn’t color correct for the blue, because I wanted the reflections the shadowed water was reflecting. I’m glad you like it, I do too. ~amy
