Guess what? It is fall(ish)! & privately owned nurseries, with all their beautiful beauties, are starting to have clearance tables! These white Hydrangeas were five dollars a piece, because their blooms are fading. Plant them in the dirt & next year you will have a yard full of Hydrangeas. Or I will.

Your blog pictures load extremely slowly. The reason is because you have uploaded huge, monster, gigantic pictures to WordPress, forcing WordPress to then resize your pictures each time someone lands on your site.
For example, the picture in this post is a whopping 4,273,423 KB! That’s 4.2 MB! That’s huge and totally unnecessary for a blog and the Internet. WordPress is resizing that monster to 780 x 1174 pixels. I downloaded it to my computer to see what its true dimensions were, and it’s 2848 x 4288 pixels. Again, huge!
I resized it to 780 x 1174 to see how big the file was and it’s only 181 KB. It would load instantaneously. You don’t lose any resolution for your blog or the Internet, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
Also, I know how long it takes to upload a file of that size. You’ll save yourself a lot of time if you resize pictures before uploading.
Try it. I think you’ll be much happier and probably get a few more likes and comments from people who normally won’t stick around for slow loading pictures.

I think you’ve told me this before & I’ve struggled to find how to do this from iPhoto to here. I thought I found it & reduced the size, but then the setting resets itself & I forget to look. I will try again, next time I post. Thank you for your patience in waiting for my monsters to download! 😉

Great idea, except we are in Spring now so no such luck this side. Will keep it in mind for next Autumn though.
