What a fab photo! I was mad for these ancient critters when I was a child. They have three eyelids and can go for several months without eating. Amazing animals and a great image.

Yes, is this an alligator? Because if so, the saltwater crocodiles of northern Australia leave them for dead – they are huge and vicious. Not my cup of tea at all!
