Mazel TOV…I’m sure there are not many synagogues in Alabama.!
Your work is fantastic!

Thank you, Gail! When I first moved here, that is what I thought. But untrue! Two synagogues within walking distance of my neighborhood & my own is a 10 minute drive. There is another synagogue on the same block as my own. Where I came from…Montpelier, Vermont. We had only a house, that a handful of Jews would meet a few times a year. I had no real Jewish education until I joined mine here. ~amy

Amy-
Your’s is a very interesting story. I read a book called the “Jew Store” about a bunch of New Yorkers who travelled south because there were opportunities to open stores.
I would have thought Vermont had an abundance of “MOT’s” (members of the tribe).
Happy Holidays, do you miss the snow, or get a chance to come north?

We moved to Montpelier, Vermont in 1973. My father said there was about 10 Jews in central Vermont at that time. When I went up last January, the Synagogue- Temple Beth-El had a (gasp) Rabbi! Beth-El is still in a little dinky blue house. I married my first husband there- a life time ago. 🙂 ~amy

Lovely work, and your Temple has to be absolutely brilliant because it was dedicated on 27th September – my birthday .
