one day a woman wished for wealth, and she became wealthy. But, she wasn’t happy. The woman wished to be famous, to seen by all. Still, she wasn’t happy. Then she wished to rule over everyone. She became very powerful. Still, she wasn’t happy. She kept demanding more & more things…growing ever more bitter, saying terrible things to people around her. She was alone. Her last wish was to live forever. To stay young forever. She now stands atop a mound of gold, wearing gold & her youth for all to see. Unless she is covered in rain, sleet or snow.
This is one of the stories I made up for her- when I was a little girl. Sometimes she was a hero other times a disney-like villain. Montpelier’s State Capital.

Such insight for a child

We had very little else to do other then make stories up. I had my twin brother attached to my hip & we would spin wild tales about all sorts of things. Three tv channels & 6 months of winter…that was the side effect. Thank you, Gretchen. ~amy
