i took this i phone picture yesterday in Nashville, TN. crazy, to read this sign while standing beside a four lane street, near Vanderbilt hospital, cars rushing past. i looked up the word, ‘macadamized road’ too…
first known use of the word was 1824. it means: to construct or finish (a road) by compacting into a solid mass a layer of small broken stone on a convex well-drained road bed & using a binder (cement or asphalt) for the mass.

It’s funny how I reacted first to the sign reading Hillsboro. You see I live in Oregon less than 5 miles from Hillsboro, Oregon. Again, I glance at the last line of the sign mentioning the Northwest and again I assumed it must be my Hillsboro. Wrong.
