The red is first thing I noticed. But there is lime green & yellow in it’s center. Fine white fur, like a peach, stands on the green stem.
Gerber Daisies remind me of fireworks~they are stunning & they were not made to last. I always ooh & ah (awe?) at a firework’s explosion, while I anticipate the next one, at the same time, a feeling, a sense of dread that that firework will be the last. With every pause, you hold your breath hoping another will explode, begging for the show not to end too soon.
Most things feel as though they end too soon. After a bit of reflection, I sometimes think that it ended perfectly…
Too much of a good thing & all that…
Maybe that is why the person who helped genetically modified these flowers to be this striking had to choose between long lasting & fading away or a burst of color & dying quickly, but not fading away. So that when delivered into our hands the flower shocks us like a firework.
Man, I am babbling today. Sorry. I guess I chose to ramble on on painfully. š
