Did I miss a memo? How did the broken pelvis come about?

Too short, too many babies, to many ladders to paint houses for flipping. Had left SI fused in 2007. Surgeon broke pubic bone, said it was “dislocated” nobody took my pain seriously until pain doctor saw my X-rays & said its broken. Sent me to Vanderbilt to trauma surgeon. He discovered all 2007 fusion & surrounding bone was infected, dug, scrapped all infected pieces & parts out, flooded me with antibiotics & I had serious complications. Sent home after 7 days. IV in arm for antibiotics & have home health. One month of antibiotics, then return for pelvis rebuild with titanium plates & screws. 6-8 more weeks bed rest. A total of 2.5 months healing in the bed. Good thing I have 42,000 images in my iPhoto library. :). Amy

Holy shit! If you will excuse the expression.
I’m desperately trying to find something positive to contribute……… and failing badly!
One thing that does spring to mind is that a lot of very cool people did some very cool things while confined to bed. I think Satre was one and I know Florence Nightingale was another. In my case I know that being confined to bed [which fortunately happens very little] allows me to stop feeling guilty about all the things I should be doing…… does it work like that for you? Do your nearest and dearest look out for you?
Hang in there creative lady…. heal and be happy.
And don’t forget to be awesome.

Absolutely beautiful.
I have an upcoming surgery too..(that I have put off for as long as I could).
Surrounding the mind with flowers sounds like a GREAT idea!
