We fostered a Siberian Husky before. She stayed, you may have seen photographs of her. This time we are fostering a male. He has heart worm so badly, they called it double heart worm. His weight is 35 when it should be closer to 65 or 70lb. He is bones are covered in fur. Our first foster flinched at my touch, wouldn’t look me in the eye. She had no sense of humor, could not play. This foster, this male, has a heart so big I’m surprised we cannot see it. We have about two weeks to put a little weight on him, so that he can begin the very painful treatment of getting rid of worms, that reside in his heart. We will do as much as we can, which is to let him know that he is loved (already) That he has a home as long as my husband will let us. I will photograph him & tell stories that will convince others of what I know now. To look into this dog’s eyes, is to know love.
Nala loved him & she is sleeping beside his kennel. Hobbes loved him, stopped in front of him, our cat Ivy ran by, which is akin to holding him all night long. He wont eat, just cookies. So that is what I will feed him dog cookies. Whatever keeps him alive, so that some other family can learn what true loved is.
And no animal has a cooler tail then Solomon (Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue named him, but I believe him to be king)

Wow Amy, he is really thin. But I know you will get some weight on him and you will all give him lots of love. I can’t wait to meet him.

I’ve never seen a dog so thin. He is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. You no longer blog, I’m sorry if I led you in the wrong direction. I’m so sorry.

He is the sweetest dog I have ever met. I am so scared for him. We have two weeks or so before he can be treated. We are trying to put on some weight, olive oil on his dog food, peanut butter, dog cookies. I worry about him. Thank you for Ash, for your prayers. ~amy
