Lace in the window

Lace in the window

I used to think lace in the window was an old fashion idea, that only old ladies had the lace. I tried every modern window treatment over the years in many different houses & hundreds of different windows. The lace is still old fashion, but my grandmother hung lace in her windows, along with heavy drapes. I remember being in her bedroom & she would have the window open, a sweet smelling Vermont summer breeze would blow the lace back and forth, it was more then it should be. Just watching, smelling & feeling the breeze, it was like a blessing from God or angels, fairies. Magic. It washed stress away, trivialize it. Made me think, I was silly to fuss over something so silly. I’ve felt a feeling similar throughout my life, felt it a handful of times. The conclusion I always reached was everything is going to be ok.
I believe it to be true, because the sun & wind danced with the lace and it cleansed my soul of worries. Everything is going to be ok.
Today, I feel a breeze brush my cheek while I am in my hammock. As gentle as a fairy’s kiss. Magic. I close my eyes and I dance with the breeze. Heaven.

very. It must be old, because they don’t look like that anymore. That is my hope. That lace curtain brought back some good memories.

Funny you should mention grandmothers. As I dusted today 😝 I decided to take pictures of some doilies my grandmother had crocheted. Brings back beautiful memories, especially because I don’t have her any more. I think you got a kiss from yours today!
