uh oh, I'm in a Soapbox mood

I dislike (hate) for sale signs, lease signs & rent signs. They are scarier then the Zombies I’ve seen walking around (everyone in Bham is suffering because the sun has not been sighted in weeks & we are all moldy). This week I saw a NEW STORE open in my neighborhood! How brave they are to open a brand new business. To open a store during these times. When most of us are unsure if our nails will break, crawling out of this whole we dug ourselves into. These people that opened the store, need us to stay open. All privately owned stores need us to spend a few bucks. All this has been said before. I feel so strongly about local economy, that it is almost (IS) a moral obligation to take care of our own first, before we hit Belks. There are some amazing boutiques around here that have very unique clothing. Chains carry 10 sweaters exactly the same. Boring. I have taken quite a few pictures of local businesses in hopes of drawing attention to them.

I’m mostly speaking to my Birmingham crowd. Everyone anywhere, please shop local first, because when you walk into a store, it may be the owner behind the cash register & that person is as brave as a lion. Buy something. Thanks, amy

I am thankful of that, I wish everyone did. But most just want to take care of themselves…no realizing that the community they live in will fall.
