I’ve nothing witty or clever to say about chess. I lack the courage to learn to play & find out I suck at it. Same reason I don’t take an IQ test. I don’t want to find out I’m average.
My father would try to teach me that it’s a slow & thoughtful game. I was five. Nothing is thoughtful for more then a minute when you’re five. While he was planning his next move, I was planning a way to escape. So maybe it did teach me one of life’s lessons. Do what you love & love what you do…
