black-eyed peas & okra, anyone?
my husband went to a friend’s farm yesterday & brought home okra…this yankee has no idea what to do with either one. black-eyed peas & okra is a VERY Southern food. the squash is not edible anymore, too many seeds i’ve been told.
across the lake
is my husband’s very large family. the lake belongs to my father-in-law. there are two campouts per year. it is always an amazing sight to see all the tents up.
oak leaf hydrangea & pine
the oak leaf hydrangea, in Alabama, is blooming everywhere. except in our yard. the second image is something i saw at the lake yesterday. the setting sun caught the leaves beautifully.
the most beautiful jello in the world…
this jello was made by my brother-in-law’s girlfriend. Irene has many talents, one being an amazing violin player. She is a performer for Modern Gypsies. The donuts at the bottom are from an old fashion Donut shop in Hoover, Alabama. They are insanely good. But i decided I’d have Irene’s Jello instead.
shake that bootie
my daughter & i pulled off the road to catch these…horses, donkey (?), mule (?), jackass (?) while we were there, the horse shook himself free of flies.
husky under the table
too hot for her to be anywhere else. Nala didn’t want to go into the water yesterday, i think she knew if she did, she would have to have a bath. Nala strongly dislikes baths.
warts & all
my son caught some temporary pets at the lake yesterday
