standing out orange

the first photo has stunningly orange flowers. the second photo is of orange blossoms…someday soon, with luck & love, they too, will be orange.

delicate deception

this flower looks so fragile, but it is one of the first to emerge from the dirt in spring, strong as an ox. it comes on the heels of winter & has been seen covered in snow, freezing rain, it has held fast in a hard frost…it can handle all this assault from Mother Nature’s…

this wee ‘vase’ (salt shaker) sits on my desk with a few other vases–holding only mums.

blooming in winter

This is my lemon tree. It lives in a pot, spring, summer & fall, it sits in the sun on my deck. Winter, it lives in my living room. That is when the magic happens.

but the sun had already turned the corner…

I had placed this vase of tulips, out of the way, because of little art students arriving for class. when the class was over, the sun had left the room’s window. the sunlight hit a piece of glass i had on my windowsill & reflected the sun into one strong ray of light…that touched only…
