What we do for love

What we do for love

Blue is an 8 year old Husky. We have had to buy a new vacuum cleaner every two years because of his fur. This twice-a-year shedding lasts for two weeks. Is he worth finding white fur in your soup or in your hair, on your black clothes before going out. Is he worth it to have to apologize to everyone who visits, ironically dressed in black?
Yes. Blue believes he is responsible for me & my children while my husband travels. Blue helps me tuck the kids in their beds & kisses them goodnight. Blue waits by the window watching for the kids to come home from school. Blue cleans up the food off the kitchen floor. Blue hears things I never could. He makes me feel very safe. He sleeps on his bed in my room. Blue is my guardian angel on earth. Blue holds my fur-covered heart in is paws.

I love this shot. I took it in a neighborhood that was known for its poverty.
Bright red geraniums hanging from hooks, birdhouses painted by hand in bright colors. The renters of this apartment attempt to cover the unpainted wood of the rotting balcony. Wood that looks fragile enough to give way to a heavy snow. It is covered with beautiful things to draw the eye upward, so those who notice can see the work of art. Click.
