This most impressive tree was growing beside a sidewalk, then through the sidewalk, slowly rising out of it like a horror movie, but in very slow motion. The tree was hanging over a parking lot. An old & striking sight hanging over the modern & mundane. I cropped out the mundane, you can see it when you go to the grocery store.

If you asked me a few days ago what my least favorite color was, I would have told you yellow. From the cat eyes (sort of yellow/orange) up every post above it has had yellow in it. I loved this dirt bike, his helmet & the yellow-do-not-drive-into-the-gas-pump-thing. I also loved it that he rode his dirt bike in the middle of downtown Birmingham.
The wall behind it had a talented painter, he matched his patches of color perfectly, if he were two.
Why can’t I grow those yellow balls? Where can someone find these strange & wonderful flowers? I want to grow green spider mums & these yellow balls. Anyone know what they are called?
This wonderful flower shop was closed. I was drooling at the possibilities if the store had been open. But I wanted to share, because we all have missed what we thought of as the shot of a lifetime.
