a bit dangerous to stare into the sun…

but i did it anyway. I had a family photo shoot at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens today. When I finished…this sight stopped me in my tracks. The orange poppies were absolutely stunning & now they’re mine.

The black, behind the hammock, is the creek that borders our backyard. Behind my hammock are my four raised beds. When I swing here, I hear the water moving over the rocks. I feel the breeze, gentle as a kiss, moving over me. & if Hobbes, my cat, is outside, he jumps onto the hammock….

the blue zebra primrose

Yes, you can put primrose into a vase. The vase just needs to be a thimble sized one.  I made this vase with oven dry clay.

stain your garden beds blue

My twin brother built these last weekend. I love that he stained the wood blue. Jealous me! I can’t wait until he puts in some plants/flowers/veggies/fruit…He works at a Nursery in Berkeley, California. So he will know HOW IT’S DONE.

the Poppies needed a helping hand

I took Nala (husky) out for a pee this morning & I didn’t have any Poppies open. I went out a few hours later to water & I had three opened & ready for their morning photo shoot.

the huskies’ new mattress

Not a great picture, BUT a very happy dog. Nala’s old bedding became torn in the wash. I had to replace it. Most dog beds feel like uncomfortable pillows. This dog bed felt like a mattress. I carried her bed up the stairs & tossed it to the floor for her. She jumped on it…
