Its like they don’t really want to spend their money on a fancy mailbox. “We will use the same damn box, no need to replace the thing it isn’t broken, I put are address on with stickers” You know this is the only mailbox I notice & I think its great that they dance to their own drummer.
I love shadows. When I was learning to paint I couldn’t figure out how to make a shadow look ilke a shadow. I got on the floor in my art studio & looked at the blinds’ shadow. The shadow didn’t have hard lines, it was not sharp, or all the same shade of grey, if you look at the dull edges you will see they their edges drift away. What i found so interesting about this was, all my life I looked at shadows & saw what I thought saw, until @ age 35, what shadow really look like. So much to learn. And in time, gentle reader, you will learn (that I’m a bit of a moron) I will drift away. I’m sorry, what were we talking about?
I love Queen Anne’s lace, it does grow here, but only on the side of highways & interstates, too deadly to try & get this stunning flower.
My child #1 helped put them in the vases, I try to teach her life long survival skills. Flower arranging is one, because it will keep you out of the therapist’s office. The pink were bought last year, they were blue when we bought them, but color is decided by the soil in which it sits. So we planted six & four made it- 3 are pink, 1 purplish…These full vases will be put in most of the rooms in the house. There was honey SUCKel, which grows on a vicious vine all wrapped up in my big blue Hydrangea. Honey SUCKel smells good at 50 feet. At 10 feet, it smells cheap & easy, baby.
So they are bought everywhere now so full of blossoms, it tricks you into thinking, they would look like that in your home. I was given one as a stunning gift, it came in a beautiful blue pot, the flowers were a purplish in color. They were stunning for 5 days, then all the flowers fell off, so I cut the stick, then the leaves turned brown. So I’m going to get an impossible to kill plant & stick it into that beautiful pot. The shadows across the petals are from the ceiling above.

Soldiers & their families touch my heart in a big way. I never thought I would be married to a man who would be deployed for 13 months. So I was a lucky one because he only had to go one time, because his reserve service contract was up. But on a very small scale, I can feel what what you feel. & I wish you all the strength to get through it.. Its hard when he/she is gone & its hard having them home. Oy. I pray for all of you. I pray the government honors you as much.
I love this house, I love old red house & red barns the dot the landscape from my seat next to the window, in the smallest plane ever. BAM! I kept waiting for the pilot to say, “don’t worry folks, that was just a bumble bee”
Anyway, even though this house needs a paint job, just think how it looked in its glory days.
