that Jew was me. one of my best friends lived in this building & i moved in with him (as a friend)  while i earned enough money to live on my own. his father lived in Egypt & rented this apartment for his son. His father flew in from time to time on business.

When we all sat down for dinner, for the first time,  his father says to me, “I cannot believe i have a Jew sitting at my table”

wow. After that statement, we all settled, uncomfortably, eating dinner together.
