this coffee mug was a gift from my high school boyfriend. i started reading X-men comics when I was 13 years old. being snowed in most of the year, in Vermont, i read every book on my mother’s book shelves & even read quite a few of my father’s set of Harvard Classics…my brother was the comic book fan. once i’d exhausted all the books, i turned to his collection. oh, how i loved Wolverine, “bub” & “darlin'” will always remind me of Wolverine. long before Hollywood discovered super heros, i had already found mine. this mug is 25 years old this year. it is a treasure. so anyone who thought i was weird for reading x-men all those years ago…see? they are awesome. this 25th year now makes this mug an antique by definition. ย ~amy the comic book nut.

I am right there with you! Thirteen must be the magic number because I started then and haven’t quit. I still have all those comics, they’re just in boxes in the basement! ๐ It’s easier to read them digital now.

52 years ago I made a weekly pilgramage to the corner liquor store to lay down my 12ยข for the latest superman comic book. I was definitely hooked. I moved on to other interests when we moved and the store was not so convenient. I’m sure my mom tossed them in the move. Alas I would have alot to wow many fans at comicon if I had kept them.
