There’s a huge public chessboard in Fremantle, the port south of Perth, Western Australia. And it reminds me of the time I played chess with someone who was very logical and versed in the game. I just plonked pieces where I felt they belonged, totally ad hoc, and WON. And he went right off his rocker because he couldn’t logically predict where I was going to move pieces to. Great fun.
