As an Inquisitive species, I love how we use our curiosity to explore the world around us. The beauty & simplicity seen here disguises the complexity found inside nature. This is a pleasing image which makes me think about the simluarity between it & us. Wonderful green.
I was happiest in them. Well, one. A huge Sugar Maple taller then our house. It still lives. I visit the tree whenever I make it back to Vermont. It’s my giving tree- although I never took anything but shelter from it.
Thank you for sharing, Claire. ~amy
Shockingly beautiful. Sometimes the underside of flowers & leaves are far more beautiful then their tops. This one is a perfect example! Thank you for liking! ~amy
I wish I knew your name!
I do have a Facebook page, Michal. My grandmother’s name was Michal. (King Saul’s daughter & King David’s wife.) My brother is named after her, he is Michal (My grandmother Michal passed away while my mother was pregnant with him). We Americanized his name. I called my grandmother, Grammy Mike. Her husband called her Mike, too. Are you female or Male?! Do you live in Israel? I do have a Facebook page…I am amy Begun Saab (the Jewish & Lebanese names) I hope you search for me.
Yes, King Saul’s daughter and Kin David’s wife… except she was out of luck…to say the least: Her father became crazy and her husband abandoned her for another woman and then, after she mocked him for dancing around the arc of covenant, she was cursed by G’d…
I am a female. Michal is a female’s name, as you mentioned (from the Torah).
Michal, My brother was given the choice, when he was old enough, to change his name to Michael, but opted to keep the female name (in honor of the grandmother he never knew). His name is pronounced, Michael. My great Grandfather, Louis Rosenthal (famous sculpture in his day, he has an online museum) pronounced it as you do, correctly. I only asked because of my brother’s situation. 🙂 ~amy
Amy, no problem (-: Thank you for sharing this story with me.
When I lived in the U.S. nobody could pronounce my name (obviously) so I changed it to Michelle, but at some point I changed it back because I wasn’t used to it (Plus, I love my name) – so everybody tried their best to pronounce the throaty “ch” (-:
BTW, I looked for your FB page but couldn’t find it. Did you fine mine?
I love Michal for a female. I loved my grammy Mike. I was five when she died, but I was old enough to remember what it felt like to be in her company. See you in Facebook land, Michal. ~amy
Oh, and… yes – I live in Israel. Was born there 38 years ago and apart from a couple of years during High school in which I lived in the U.S. – I’ve lived here all my life.

I like the b-w contrast with this full of colors leaf. Lovely!

Thank you very much, I removed color from the pot because it detracted from the beauty of the leaf. Always fun to play with some photos. ~amy

As a child, I was always happiest beneath trees, looking up seeing the underside of their leaves.
