Since the Big Changes that were made in the garden last year the relaid cobbles of several paths have been waiting for the addition of something to fill in the cracks. In the past, I have variously allowed them to fill naturally with soil or brushed sand or a dry mortar mix in. The latter resulted in many hours spent chipping the mortar off again so the cobbles could be reused, and whereas the natural soil addition worked in smaller areas it meant mud and weeds elsewhere and the dry sand was too loose to work successfully. I have been keeping half an eye open for gravel in a specification small enough to be brushed easily into the spaces, and although the grit I bought recently to use in the gravel trays in the greenhouse could have worked it was too expensive an option for the number of paths.       Oh, I’m lucky to have a husband that loves to work with me outside & I have a damaged pelvis & cannot do large jobs like that, but I can put the gavel in-between.-amy
