A garden plan is essential no matter the garden size. As for me, this comes naturally, because I plan everything from the smallest to largest tasks in my world….soooooooooooo it’s exciting to add one more chance to micro-manage…OH, I mean plaannnn :)).

The 2013 garden plan began last month, when my 10’x20′ garden plot was secured. Compared to last year’s 20’x30′ plot, this one is MUCH smaller. So to tackle this, I will experiment with square foot gardening. One of my fav sites, Better Homes and Gardens (http://www.bhg.com/gardening/plans/), helped to inspire my initial plan below, which will consist of multiple 3’x3′ beds, filled with companion plantings of veggies, flowers, and herbs.

Another experiment this season is orgaannniicccc gardening (I’ll save my cynical comments.) This practice is mandatory in my new gardening community, so I’m up for the challenge and flavorful produce(YUM), but NOT up for the BUGS (YUCK.) Hopefully companion…
