The muddy water is that color because the dirt is orange in Birmingham due to high iron content. It is also that color because this photo was taken after a big rain. It may run clear when not raining, but I’ve never been back to see.

Nice shot….just don’t bottle the water. Our streams up here in Derbyshire have been running dark brown with the peat stains off the moors worse this year after all the rains – but they still have a translucent look to them!

I wish I could travel to Derbyshire & see that for myself or perhaps you might photographing them? -amy
