Nala was a rescue from Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue, what a wonderful organization. They first foster all their Huskies until they find their forever home. I don’t think Nala’s previous owners permitted her to howl. But after she saw our reactions to Blue’s how she tried & she sounded like something….in pain. But she is getting better.This is Blue, my first baby. He is going to be 9 human years old. Blue was always bigger then what a male husky should be 80 pounds. Blue is now pushing 100#. I just have to say,”Talk to me, Blue”
OH, you wouldn’t regret your choice. My dogs are full of character, they are my shadows, they tuck in my kids at night, they are smart as a whip. Mine do not jump or go nuts when they greet anyone at the door. Nala came from Alabama Siberian Rescue. I had an interview & fill out forms, someone came out to the house to meet us. They spayed her & she came with a goodie bag & a crate all paid for by them.The first week she was a little grumpy from her surgery, but then her personality began to show & we knew she was one of us. So we called the rescue & told her we wanted her. Payed a fee that was better then fair. Before searching the paper, google Siberian Husky Rescue to see if your area has one. If you chose that route its a great peace of mind to know if you do not get along/trust the dog, you call the rescue & they will bring you a different one to try. And if you find one that fits, you will be followed by true love.
The worst traits are if they get away, their instinct is to run until their paws bleed (Blue, one time) They need a chip.
& the other thing is they shed badly for two weeks, twice a year. When they are close to done, I bring them to the groomer, there is no point before that, they just Poof up the house.
Next year I am saving both dogs fur & have it spun into yarn & have my mother sew me a scarf. 🙂 amy
Amy, thank you very, very much for all this useful information. I love both Nala and Blue, they are beautiful. I am sure we will end up with a husky because he really wants one and I just want a dog to play with. We have been researching researching different breeds in order to learn as much as possible about the pros and cons. So this information is very helpful. Thank you again!

My husband wants a husky and after seeing your photos I am more and more inclined to go with his choice.
