Downtown Birmingham has gone through many changes, both with its people & its architecture.  When I drive around & look at the sides of buildings, they are different from the front.  Its as though companies want to put a modern look on the front, but leave part of its past showing.  That is one reason I love this city.  I will get downtown & shoot all the old advertisements painted on the sides of buildings & left untouched for decades & show them off.  I will show you one of my favorites. The difference with this image & the others, is this one someone attempted to be cover up history with modern blah paint, & the building itself revolted, to show us its colorful past.
