Every Veteran’s day, we take our children here to honor our soldiers & their families. Each metal image tells a different story. But I always find something new. By the way, those of you who’ve never been to Alabama-the red at the bottom of the pillars is red dirt, that splashed up from the ground during rain storms. I come from black dirt Vermont, shocking color to find this is dirt when you dig in Alabama. I’ve been told the dirt has a lot of iron in it, causing this color. And plants grow here!
