Alabama’s oldest restaurant
I’ve never been to downtown Bessemer. A friend & i were in the area because we needed an army/Navy store for our son’s ‘swat team’ Halloween costumes. She told me she was taking us to the Bright Star restaurant because i’d never been before. The town is very small, very old & quite empty….
poppy weeping
but still a stunner. this was photographed last spring, from my garden. I stumbled across it while looking for something else & thought it would be nice to show it again.
my brother’s cat
My brother brought home, to his first apartment at the age of 20, this cat. He lived for almost 20 years & passed away last week.
wee mums make a HUGE impact
the blue vases stand about 2″ tall, the clear ‘vase’ is a mini salt/pepper shaker. The white rabbits? They are real salt & pepper shakers. Mums in Alabama usually come back year after year. These mums were a gift from my mother-in-law about three years ago. bringing flowers inside does the soul good.
the 11 year old photographer
Our cat, Ivy, was sitting under the dinning room table after having gotten a drink of water. Henry saw the water droplets hanging from the fur on her chin. She looks a bit evil. Perfect for a black cat on Halloween.
my cat looking stunning…
as usual. Hobbes is the best cat ever, just ask my art class students.
Chickadeeedeeedeeeeeedeeeeeedeeeeeeeeeeeee
as a girl, living in Vermont, the snow almost mid-thigh…our wild birds were so hungry, that chickadees would eat out my mittens.
Austin Healey 3000 MkIII
i was already late for physical therapy…BUT, i pulled right over & photographed this beauty. the little red car that stopped me cold. i want this car. i’m glad i stopped because when i returned an hour later, it was gone…
