a neglected Christmas cactus
still delivered me a few blossoms. Oy, the guilt. I promised the plant I will pay it a bit more attention in return for its kindness.

a strip of red
the only color that could be seen. This statue is so old that the concrete has begun to wash off, leaving behind only the stones that made her. This statue belonged to my husband’s grandmother & had she lived, she would have turned 100 years old in early December.

but there is a square. defiant little vine, trying to prove straight lines found in nature is false. & succeeded. golden late afternoon sun on a yellow house.
