They are bookends, they are safety in numbers, they are family

They are bookends, they are safety in numbers, they are family

To have these amazingly sweet, furry teddy bears love you beyond measure, is to know true love. The gray & white was a rescue. The pound got her & her brother & both had one week to live. But the people who work at the pound know breeds, if there is a rescue for the breed, they call. Alabama Siberian Rescue put Nala on facebook & I filled out the foster form. She was with us two weeks & we were told that I have to put information & photograph her for Facebook. So that she may find her forever home. But her last name was Saab? She fit our family like a glove. She lives in my studio while I work. Sleeps in my room at night.
The big white dog, Blue was a departing gift for me while he was to be deployed. He was there so I had someone to protect me, love me, let me hold him. They are our bookends & they hold us together. Before you look for a special breed, please check to see if the breed you like has any homeless rescues that you can love.

Blue & Sweet Pea

Blue & Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea & her person house sat for us. The cats thought Sweet Pea was a cat first.

Yeah, this is Blue’s bed…

Yeah, this is Blue's bed...

Ivy can make our 80 pound husky get of his own bed, so that she may lay her royal butt on it. I wonder what she says to Blue for him to jump up for her. I think she says,”So, Blue, wanna keep those pretty little blue eyes?”
Sort of like a female Godfather. Poor Blue, that must be scary!

Nala & Blue’s boy

Nala & Blue's boy

We were parked at the high school, waiting for H.
This is the dogs job, They do carpool. They are harnessed in.

“Mom says we have to be friends because we are brother & sister”

“But, gosh, you smell so good, I would like to eat every inch of you, even your nose, do you think your nose would be crunchy?” asks Nala the Dog

“Yeah I think my nose would be crunchy, sometimes I want to rip out your eyeballs & slice them thinly, to put on top of goldfish crackers for a snack….maybe we ought to do what Mom says, since she fills our bowls with food.”Says Hobbes the cat.

What we do for love

What we do for love

Blue is an 8 year old Husky. We have had to buy a new vacuum cleaner every two years because of his fur. This twice-a-year shedding lasts for two weeks. Is he worth finding white fur in your soup or in your hair, on your black clothes before going out. Is he worth it to have to apologize to everyone who visits, ironically dressed in black?
Yes. Blue believes he is responsible for me & my children while my husband travels. Blue helps me tuck the kids in their beds & kisses them goodnight. Blue waits by the window watching for the kids to come home from school. Blue cleans up the food off the kitchen floor. Blue hears things I never could. He makes me feel very safe. He sleeps on his bed in my room. Blue is my guardian angel on earth. Blue holds my fur-covered heart in is paws.
