My 16 year old daughter was asked to enter a contest as a costume designer by her drama teacher. These are practice drawings. I am so very proud of her.

a talent passed from Grandfather, to grandson, to niece (my daughter) Illustrating is a gift.

The talent has passed 3 generations, that I can see the illustrator carried from my Grandfather, to my brother, then to my daughter. through

This is a quick coloring with crayons, but the art is just like my twin brother’s art, when my brother was her age. Its in the genes & that is amazing. My art came from envy of Jason’s talent, I was green, green, green with Jealousy. But I’m not Jealous of H.’s inborn talent, I encourage. Because she felt she wasn’t good at anything her whole life, she had no interest in anything. She would ask what am I going to do when I grow up. I always told her not to worry about it, she will figure it out. I think she just had to grow old enough to gain the strength in her hands to draw as she does. This coloring was some sort of joke my mother or daughter won’t share with me. I just hope I’m not the witch!

I saw her in the corner of my eye, turned to catch it & missed & I will regret it forever

She is stunning & sweet & thoughtful in this image. Not a child, not an adult. Just Hannah I love when she stops worrying about people looking at her or she is embarrassed to be with her parents at the park. I love when she lets go of all that teenager crap. And I missed it. But the feeling is still evident & so I’m sharing it with you. Happy Fireworks.

The best parents, mine.

The best parents, mine.

They came to watch H. play t-ball. My father told me my whole life while I was growing tall, he would say, “Our parents make us, then we remake themselves” I guess I forgot the photo part. 4 generations of photographers & now S. picking up the torch or camera rather. My father’s favorite cameras were the Hasselblad & the Contax SLR because of its lenses/optics. I guess being an eye guy, I would believe him, but can’t afford either one of his favorites. So I use the standard Nikon D90.
