My brother drew this on a paper bag while watching television

The eyes remind me of Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings. The eyes are what blow me away. Jason wasn’t copying anything. It was planted in his brain & he put it on paper. She is a super hero, who’s name escapes me, she was with the xmen for a bit. Out of the thousands of drawing that came from Jason’s hand I have only one. I have a brown paper bag framed & its in my art studio. My brother is embarrassed about it, that I have it framed, because he says it was just a doodle. If a 17 year old hand can doodle like this, I can’t imagine what it would be capable of doing now. But he was told his art is crap, from someone very important to him. He put his art away as though they were childhood play things. He is now 42 & still refuses to attempt to draw. Breaks my heart & hurts my soul. Its still in him, but he believes he would never be as good. He is right, because he has to start over & build the strength required to make his magic again.
My words fall on deaf ears. Being green with envy pushed me to study every book in the local libraries to learn to paint. The last time I studied art was as a senior in high school. So the natural artist hangs up his skills, tucks them away from sight & pretends he is not been given a gift. So I paint, or I did…pushing myself to be as good as he once was. I am a realist, I can’t really just throw paint on a canvas & call it art. But no one wants realisium. I paint what I see. The difference is I have to see the pictures of objects I paint, whereas Jason already has them in his head. I love my brother, he worries about my physical condition, I worry about him suppressing a gift given to him by God.

a talent passed from Grandfather, to grandson, to niece (my daughter) Illustrating is a gift.

The talent has passed 3 generations, that I can see the illustrator carried from my Grandfather, to my brother, then to my daughter. through

This is a quick coloring with crayons, but the art is just like my twin brother’s art, when my brother was her age. Its in the genes & that is amazing. My art came from envy of Jason’s talent, I was green, green, green with Jealousy. But I’m not Jealous of H.’s inborn talent, I encourage. Because she felt she wasn’t good at anything her whole life, she had no interest in anything. She would ask what am I going to do when I grow up. I always told her not to worry about it, she will figure it out. I think she just had to grow old enough to gain the strength in her hands to draw as she does. This coloring was some sort of joke my mother or daughter won’t share with me. I just hope I’m not the witch!

Store Shooting…What it is I’m doing

Store Shooting...What it is I'm doing

Artist get inspired by other artist, even those in a different field. I’ve been around Birmingham & Pell City taking pictures of merchandise that some other artist has set up in the store. Somethings in the stores blow me away. So I started asking if I can shot some images for my blog & mention their name & most have been glad to do so. I have done five or six stores free. That is why you see some photography of beautiful things with price tags on them. I took those shots for free. I am still going to do some stores on occasion for free, if I’m blown away.
I’ve been asked by a few stores, if I can come & shot theirs. I said that I was unable to do it at this time. Because once word gets around about FREE. The time to give things away because someone wants it that way ends. But I am still cheap. I am $175 an hour, I will put your images on my blog & advertise me & you. When I’ve completed editing your images, I will burn a CD of every image to do what you will with it. I am not trained to take pictures for advertising the ‘normal’ way, I do with my creative look. So, this Blog is mostly of my stuff & my stories & my photography of whatever I find I like.
I found that I truly loved shooting in stores, were everything is placed just so. I want to do more. If you wish to contact me, Birmingham, you can find me at 2me4art@gmail.com. Just advertizing a dream.
Thanks, Amy Saab

Oops, the title “piles of window..” was about mantles

If you have an outdoor space & need some privacy, instead of all weather curtains, you could find some antique window about the same size & hang them them as is or have someone tile them in glass. I had a window or two hanging, with clear glass & I loved it.

Piles of windows…what potential!

The mantels, I think there were two, those could be taken to an boring apartment, painted, put a basket (thin) with dried flowers or cool sticks or a neat candle holder that holds several tea lights or the next size up. Place a picture/painting above it, a vase with fresh or dried flowers, candles & BOOM. A complete change to dull, for 200 bucks or so! You’re welcome. My husband said it would be cool, but not in our house.

These paper weight balls of bubbles were 10 bucks a piece. I think I’m doing some Christmas/Chanukah’s gifts here. People should check out their local Antiques store. She had funky fun old Jewelry for nothing! My daughter #2 got this great big pink flower ring that i love!
