who hunts humans?

IMG_3873IMG_3874DSC_0194DSC_0066DSC_0051DSC_0174DSC_0042DSC_0030DSC_0171DSC_0198DSC_0181DSC_0142DSC_0186DSC_0209DSC_0182least you forget, Mother Nature takes back what once belonged to her. & her partner, Father Time, never stops attempting (and succeeding) to turn everything back to dust…humans think of time as moving forward, ‘we make time’, we ‘find time’ as though we can control time. what we build & then what we claim as our space on this wee planet as our own. Father time moves ever forward, hunting us, he is behind us, right on our heels like a beast.  he turns everything to its basic form or the sum of its parts & we humans become dust. humbling, i think, to know that everything we do will be claimed by time & nature.

and you know, the only thing to stop Mother Nature & Father Time is to photograph it & print it, or write our history down…maybe on papyrus? and try very hard to live in the moment-a place that cannot be linked to time, as hard as that is for us so busy people…

why this occurs to me now? because i was without internet in my apartment for four days & i thought i would go mad without my photos stored on this screen. my daughter went through phone withdrawal because her phone died completely…my son had a hard time finding a way to bring him peace. which proves that although technology is awesome…the sun can take it all away with a sneeze.

ps the image, i picked to be featured, is the rust i found on a dumpster at a McDonalds in the middle of nowhere Alabama…if it was a painting, someone with money would buy it for thousands…perhaps i should lie & say the abstract painting is mine & it costs $50 thousand dollars đŸ™‚

    1. no. nothing. but while we breathe, we can create things that may last far longer than we would have guessed…maybe? even advice can be passed on for a long time. You are sad today. Go see a silly movie, get outside, blast music like a teenager…escape the pain. ~amy

You do show us how ugly we can make our holy Mother. We can and do turn her inside out with our pollution, cutting of trees, our fracking, our littering and our endless signs. Thank you for the reminder. Hugs, Barbara
