still life

i think the term, “still life” came from both the creator of it & the people who view it. when you decorate your house just right, people find beauty everywhere, thus giving us a chance to be still & just look.

and no, not my house. my house is full of drying art…and disco balls…and loud music to dance around the house to.

Thank you! I must admit to having an anti-vibration lens & camera on my Nikon D90, which allows me to shoot things, that i never could before–without a tripod. I’ve taken shots at a 9th of a second, with app. wide open & my camera gave me the image. ~amy

But you should see if Canon has an anti-vibration camera first, if you like Canon! But it is so darn cool to shoot in the almost dark…images may be underexposed, but in focus?! It is so good for people who can’t hold the camera as steady as they once did. like me. sigh…

I like to call them my “vignettes” all over the house!

I had to look up ‘vignettes’ & i’m admitting to it. i things set up all over the house, things i’ve arranged & rearranged a thousand times. because it pleases me to see treasures not under a big ‘X marks the spot’, but to have them set up in the perfect spot. gosh, did i mangle that sentence. Thank you for your comment, Merilee. i think i need to refresh my coffee.

LOLOL everything in my world is mangled before at least two cups of coffee..

I understand and I do the same thing and what I consider to be a treasure (like fall leaves I picked up off the road just before turning my rental car in at Logan Airport and shoving them into my suitcase that are now lying on my entry table) may not be what others would consider treasure. But I don’t care. I have them lying everywhere in my ever-changing still life vignettes 🙂
