The jump from 11 years old to 12 is astonishing. Puberty does a number on our children. i would recommend to all parents…enjoy them (even when they are annoying us with babble about a video game or something) before puberty makes them no longer yours. I mean, they would prefer hanging out with friends to being with old me, i mean, us. 🙂 Yesterday, she turned 14…how the hell did that happen?!
I am touched. You are a blessed person, Amy. And you deserve every bit of it.
Happy birthday, young lady!

You know…when i started to collect photos of my daughter growing up, the changes were incredible between ages 11-12. I think it is human nature to believe things will always remain the same– b/c it feels like we ourselves seldom change. I mean, gosh i’m 45 years old according to my birth certificate, but i’m still 26 inside. Perhaps, it is also a way to keep us from going crazy. Thank you, Jane. ~amy

How well I remember that shift. One day my daughter just appeared with the figure of a woman. Wow. Now I am an old woman and she is a middle aged woman and we are best friends.
