how to freeze wishes for future use…

DSC_0134

the childhood impulse to blow these dandelion seeds to the four winds still lives within me. I’m grateful for that. I like the feeling of hope showings it’s shining face. I picked these at their peek & sprayed them with high gloss varnish. i let their stems dry in the sun, on my windowsill. ย I have collected 7 now & they stand tall in a glass vase in my kitchen, under my disco ball.

now, walking in the room is akin to traveling back in time to a place were hope & joy was everywhere.

I can’t wait to do this tomorrow!!! I am redecorating my bathroom and just had a sign made “You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true.” with a dandelion and some seeds flying above the writing โค

Theresa…what i didn’t think of was that the stems need to dry, so after that first try, i hung them upside down until the stems were stiffer. However, they are not strong enough to support the dandelion w/ varnish on them up. So i put them in a vase that supported the fluff. Just thought you should know! ~amy

I was going to figure that out today!! lol I used crystal clear enamel spray paint and that helps with the seeds but I went to look at them today and the stems are all flimsy lol. I’ll try hanging upside down or maybe a kabob skewer will fit in the stem to make it stand…

Tammy, i don’t think spraying varnish over dandelion seeds would be considered a craft. ๐Ÿ™‚ i didn’t do anything but freeze what was already beautiful. I hope you do it. It looks amazing when the sunlight passes through. ~amy

Lovely is perfect. when the sunlight passes by the window, the light is extraordinary viewed through the dandelion seeds. I highly recommend this for those that made tons of wishes as a kid. ๐Ÿ™‚ ~amy

You and me both–much to the dismay of my dad! I never thought of spraying them. Such a great idea, Amy.
